Color Me Rad 5K 2013 @ Mylan Park
Sep 7 @ 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm

Morgantown, WV

September 07, 2013

First Wave: 09:00 AM
 Mylan Park

500 Mylan Park Ln, Morgantown, WV 26501

 ABOUT COLOR ME RAD
If you’re allergic to the metric system, corn starch, or unbridled joy, you’d probably be more comfortable watching Matlock than at the starting blocks of this color-filled 5k.

But if you’re itching for a great time and not from a bad case of diaper rash, Color Me Rad Morgantown, WV is the run for you.

By intelligent design or evolution, man was meant to run for one thing and one thing only: to stay alive. Pamplona was the first real race organized for what running should be: running from stuff that’s going to kill, gore, or maim you.

Luckily, we’ve evolved to where we only hunt for attractive potential mates, we only gather for extreme couponing, and we only run to benefit charities and our cardiovascular system.

So quit lollygagging and join us for the race that’s been ruining all other 5Ks since 2012 at Color Me Rad Morgantown, WV.

Color Me Rad: gluten-free running since 2012 (all previous years were full of gluten).

Ronnie Dunn Concert at Schmitt’s Saloon @ Schmitt's Saloon
Oct 25 @ 8:00 pm – Oct 26 @ 3:45 am

From Ronnie Dunn

My tour manager and I were sitting around looking at the tour routing last week in San Antonio. We were seeing that we were going to have the entire band and crew out with two days between shows. It’s not highly unusual to have days off between shows but we have been on a mission to come up with ways to do things a little differently. I think it’s important to find ways to connect what we do on a grassroots level with local communities and real people. I feel like I lost touch at times with some of that while with Brooks and Dunn. That machine became so big that it was sometimes impossible to stop and actually connect.

I think it’s crucial to give back, too..especially in today’s economic environment.

The idea of giving our routing info to people that follow me through social media and asking them participate by suggesting places that we might play along the way came up. We’re calling it “Play For Beer,” but it’s really about finding places that we can drop into on a whim, play and in turn do something helpful for a worthy cause.

We’ve received an overwhelming response from a place called Schmitt’s Saloon (http://hub.am/1aEbQC5) in Morgantown, West Virginia so we have decided to stop, plug-in and play there on Friday, Oct. 25.

Any and all proceeds will go to Operation Welcome Home (http://hub.am/1aEbStM). Even the bartenders are chipping in and donating a dollar from each drink to the cause. We may pass the hat.

Here we go. “Play For Beer” show number one.

101 Mile Freedom Run to Kick Off the 2013 Military Bowl!

2013 Military Bowl Freedom Run

Marine Corps Veteran and Freedom Runner Jamie Summerlin will help kick off the 2013 Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium with a 101-mile run from Shepherdstown, W.Va., to Annapolis, Md., reliving the final day of his 3,452-mile Freedom Run across America to honor Veterans in 2012.

Military Bowl Freedom Run Sponsor

Beginning the morning of Thursday, December 26, Jamie will step off from Two Rivers Treads, the store that donated his 10 pair of shoes for the Freedom Run. Finishing 24 hours later, he will attend the Medal of Honor reception at the Governor’s Mansion, participate in the Military Bowl Parade and be recognized during the Military Bowl.

Military Bowl Freedom Run

Always known for going the extra mile, Jamie mapped the Military Bowl Freedom Run to ensure that he not only relived Day 100 with a 100 mile run, but wanted to also shed light on the brave men and women who always go the extra mile to protect our freedoms by adding 1 more mile to this challenge. His goal is to raise $100,000.00 for Operation Welcome Home, an organization “For Veterans, By Veterans” in. You can support Operation Welcome Home by making a 100% tax-deductible donation below(*). If you would like to become a sponsor of the 2013 Military Bowl Freedom Run, you can also Contact Jamie Here

Your donation is greatly appreciated, and will help Operation Welcome Home continue to support our veterans through the services it provides.
